Menopause & Perimenopause Care
Your body is changing, and you deserve care that changes with it.
Hormonal shifts during menopause and perimenopause can bring new challenges, from pain and discomfort to changes in bladder and pelvic floor function. We are here to support you through each season of life with tools and care that help you feel strong, confident, and in control. We specialize in addressing the following changes:
Sexual health: Dyspareunia (painful intercourse), vaginal dryness or tightness (related to hormonal changes), reduced sexual sensation or pleasure, loss of confidence or anxiety about sexual function
Hormonal impact on muscles and joints: Increased joint or pelvic pain, stiffness or weakness in the core and pelvic region, impact on posture and stability
Bladder and Urinary changes: Urinary leaking, overactive bladder (urgency and frequency), increased risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs), nocturia (frequent nighttime urination), difficulty emptying the bladder
Bowel Function: fecal incontinence, constipation, or straining
Pelvic floor muscle changes: Pelvic floor weakness or atrophy, pelvic organ prolapse (bladder, rectum, or uterus descent), heaviness or pressure in the pelvic region
Bone and joint health: Osteoporosis (decreased bone density), tailbone pain, sacroiliac joint pain, hip pain
Functional changes: difficulty returning to high-impact activities (running, jumping, or weight training), reduced core strength and stability
Seeing out help during this time can help you thrive for years to come.
Let’s be honest: the changes you are feeling during perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause can be super frustrating. Hormonal changes affect so many systems, and ignoring the effect these changes have on your pelvic floor and beyond can leave you managing symptoms that are very much treatable and years of unnecessary discomfort. You don’t have to just let this “run it’s course” and hope it will get better with time (or accept that this just is what it is).
What to expect at Purple Physical Therapy
Every session is 60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Sheron. You will see the same provider at every visit, which means your treatment plan is always evolving based on what's actually happening with your body, not starting from scratch each time.
Treatment is a blend of hands-on manual therapy, movement, breathwork, and individualized exercise. We look at your whole body, not just the area that hurts, because pelvic floor symptoms rarely have just one source.
We also offer both in-home and in-clinic appointments, so you can choose the setting that feels most comfortable and accessible to you.
If you have questions before booking or want a sense of what treatment might look like for you, we're happy to talk through that when you reach out.
