Pregnancy Physical Therapy
Feel your best during pregnancy.
Your body is going through one of its most transformative journeys as it changes, adapts, and creates space to nurture and care for your baby. These changes can sometimes bring discomfort and pain. Our care is designed to support you through every stage of pregnancy, helping you stay strong, comfortable, and prepared for what’s ahead.
We specialize in treating a range of pregnancy-related concerns, including:
Pubic symphysis dysfunction (Pain in the pubic region)
Round ligament pain (lightening crotch)
Groin pain
Hip pain
Sciatica
SIJ pain (Sacroiliac Joint pain)
Tailbone pain
Upper/Mid/Low Back pain
Neck pain
Strength & mobility - Up, down, and everything in between
Pregnancy is hard enough. Dealing with pain on top of it doesn't have to be part of the experience.
Prenatal pelvic floor PT can help you avoid and/or get relief from pregnancy-related symptoms as well as prep for birth so that you can decrease your chances of birth-related trauma. You deserve support from a provider that will help you feel great as your body changes to help baby grow.
Labor and delivery preparation package
We offer a two-session package specifically for labor and delivery preparation.
This package is designed to help you feel physically ready and genuinely informed as you head into labor and delivery. Each session is 75 minutes long and covers the practical tools and education that will help you when it’s time to welcome baby.
We'll work through the stages of labor, breathing and pushing mechanics, perineal massage, and functional anatomy so you understand what your body is doing and why. We'll also cover movements and positions that support your baby's descent, optimal birthing positions, and how your partner can support you throughout the process.
Beyond the physical, you’ll leave feeling confident in making informed decisions about your care so that whatever your birth looks like, you feel prepared and in control of the experience (as much as possible, that is).
Frequently Asked Questions about Prenatal PT
-
Yes. Prenatal physical therapy is safe at every stage of pregnancy and is specifically designed with your changing body in mind. Dr. Sheron has advanced training in pregnancy and postpartum care and will always tailor treatment to where you are in your pregnancy, what you're experiencing, and what feels comfortable for you.
When the pelvic floor isn't functioning well, it can show up as pain, leaking, urgency, pressure, discomfort with sex, and more. Pelvic floor PT uses hands-on treatment, movement, breathwork, and individualized exercise to address the root cause of those symptoms, not just manage them.
-
There is no wrong time to start. Some people come in during the first trimester to get ahead of discomfort, while others come in later when symptoms have already developed. Whether you're newly pregnant or approaching your due date, we can meet you where you are and make the most of the time we have together.
-
Absolutely. Prenatal PT isn't only for people who are already struggling. It's also about building the strength, mobility, and body awareness that support a smoother pregnancy, labor, and recovery. Many people find that coming in proactively helps them avoid the discomfort that often shows up as pregnancy progresses.
-
An internal exam may be appropriate depending on your symptoms and goals, but it is never required. There are also specific times during your pregnancy we choose to not do internal examinations. Dr. Sheron will always explain what she recommends and why, and your comfort and consent guide every decision. If an internal exam isn't something you want during pregnancy, we have plenty of other ways to assess and treat effectively.
-
Yes, and this is one of the most valuable things we offer during pregnancy. We can work on breathing and pushing mechanics, positions that support your baby's descent, perineal massage, and movement strategies that may help labor progress more smoothly. Going into delivery with that kind of preparation can make a real difference in how informed and in control you feel on the day. We have a specific 2-session package that can help you prepare for birth.
